In Web3 gaming, a transaction is how you interact with the blockchain to perform actions such as purchasing game items or transferring coins to friends. When using Immutable Passport wallet, any time a game or application requests you to sign a transaction, Passport will display a confirmation screen for you to review and sign.
Typically, Web3 transactions can be difficult to interpret, with a lot of the information being presented in a format not easily understood by most users. Passport simplifies this process by showing you clear, easy-to-read details so you can confidently and safely sign transactions.
What are Spend Approvals?
Spend approvals are requests from applications that allow them to spend your coins on your behalf, either up to a certain amount or an unlimited amount. This is a feature enabled by ERC20 tokens, which allow applications to execute more complex operations like swapping coins.
Once you approve an application to spend from your wallet, you may not be asked to confirm again until the approved limit is reached. If you grant unlimited spend approval, the application can spend the entire balance of that token in your wallet.
How Spend Approvals Appear on Passport
When an application requests to use your coins, Passport will display the details clearly, showing you the amount, the recipient, and any limits set for the spend approval. This way, you always have full transparency over what you're authorizing.
