At Immutable, we’re dedicated to protecting the integrity of our ecosystem and providing a secure experience for all users. As part of this commitment, we are actively exploring the implementation of measures to block temporary email domains within Immutable Passport. This initiative is designed to enhance platform security and create a safer environment for legitimate users.
Why Block Temporary Email Domains?
By blocking these domains, we can:
- Prevent the Loss of Funds: Improved Passport bot detection is preventing some users (including those using temporary email domains) from signing in with Immutable. This is to protect users from losing their funds if access to their temporary email addresses are lost.
⚠️ Impacted users will need to wait for resolution. - Prevent Fraudulent Account Creation: Temporary email domains are often exploited by bots and malicious actors to rapidly create multiple fraudulent accounts.
- Curtail Bot Activity: Limiting the impact of bots that use temporary emails to engage in harmful activity.
- Strengthen Platform Security: Ensuring a more secure experience for legitimate users by mitigating fraud and bot-driven actions.
This proactive measure will help us foster a more trustworthy and stable ecosystem for our players.
