Setting up your Layer-1 wallet with Immutable X

In this post, you will learn how to create a Layer-1 Wallet, so you can then deposit ETH (L1) and other tokens into Immutable X (L2) from your Ethereum wallet.

Creating a Layer-1 (L1) Wallet

To hold tokens or trade on Immutable X, you will need a Layer-1 wallet.

Currently, Immutable X supports MetaMask, GameStop and Magic.

Create a wallet using MetaMask

  1. Install MetaMask for your browser at metamask.io

  2. Follow the steps in the plugin to create a new wallet.
    ⚠️ Don’t forget to write down your seed phrase! If you lose this, you will lose access to your wallet forever. Immutable X nor MetaMask will be able to restore it for you. Check out their Dos and Don'ts for more information on safety

  3. You now have an Ethereum wallet, and can register with Immutable X!

Create a wallet using Gamestop Wallet

  1. Install Gamestop Wallet for your browser at https://wallet.gamestop.com

  2. Follow the steps in the plugin to create a new wallet.

  3. You now have an Ethereum wallet, and can register with Immutable X!
